Built by Uyghur youth—for Uyghur youth—we strive to empower our peers, and preserve our cultural identity.

UUY engages in a broad range of efforts, including: digital content, political advocacy, international research, cultural connection programs, and educational events.

These efforts then unite to inform our overarching mission: the empowerment of Uyghur youth in the diaspora, and in turn, the preservation of our cultural identity.

Taking advantage of the ever-expanding digital world, UUY uses social media to amplify our voice and spread awareness.

Advocacy

The Uyghur identity is inherently political in this current day. UUY is involved with lobbying, activism, and other advocacy efforts.

Research

To combat the Uyghur cultural genocide, UUY is committed to documenting and preserving Uyghur history and stories through ethnographic research.

From summer fellowships to volunteer opportunities, UUY has a plethora of programs to get youth involved.
